...is a theater group based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The name is derived from the Czech expression “vichr z hor”, which describes how a “blast of wind” literally blows the cast off stage, out of reach of the angry audience. Performances are in English.

On March 20, 2010, at 6:32 PM, the vernal equinox occurred as the sun crossed directly over the Earth’s equator, signaling the start of spring. It just so happened to be the exact time when Vicar’s Whore finally arrived, you might say, on the world’s stage in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The play was Sally Carter (left), a one-act tale about the American Civil War, presented in English, to an all-Czech audience. Just the fact that it could be done in a city where bars outnumber theatres by 100 or so to 1 entitled the cast to three curtain calls. Next up is another one-act piece, about the home front in Britain during World War II. Determined to uphold the traditions that benefit her class, Lady Belfry defies the Germans to try and bomb her flower show. The premiere is currently set for November.
